Prashant Pillai

Hola, I'm Prashant Pillai.

I make music for films, write about creativity and life, and build things when curiosity refuses to sit quietly.

Prashant Pillai is an Indian film composer who has scored 50+ films in Malayalam, Hindi, Tamil, and Telugu — including Amen, Angamaly Diaries, Shaitan, Unda, and Moonwalk. He trained under A.R. Rahman, led programming for a radio network, and is currently on sabbatical from film composing while building an online business. He writes publicly about music, creativity, and reinvention.

A lot of people know me as the composer behind films like Shaitan, Amen, Angamaly Diaries, Mukkabaaz, Unda, and Moonwalk.

But music is only one part of the story.

Over the years, composing for cinema, building businesses, moving countries, taking breaks, raising a family, and starting over in different ways have pushed me toward the things I now love sharing most: honest notes on creativity, music, work, failure, reinvention, and living with more intention.

What you should do now is read something I've written.

People seem to connect with the pieces that are raw, useful, and a little uncomfortable in the right way.
