Sometimes, we hold on to beliefs that feel safe and comfortable.

We stick with them even if they aren’t true.

It’s like being in a dark room for so long that the darkness starts to feel natural.

And what do we do when someone shows us light?

We might hesitate, we might mistake it for yet another trap.

Why ?

Because stepping into the unknown is never easy.

We can’t trust a new object in our area of comfort.

I had an experience that made me uncomfortable and unsettled me.

Upon self reflection, it reminded me how important it is to question what we’re told, how we’re spoken to and who is uttering these words.

We need find the truth for ourselves, when we feel cornered.

It’s not easy, especially when you feel you are being cornered or you feel threatened of uncomfortable.

It takes a lot of effort to let go of the template ideas and concepts fed to us.

Especially when they are designed to make us feel secure.

We have to question and ask…

  • why we are thinking a certain way

  • why we are acting a certain way

  • why we are always with certain kind of people more often and not others,

  • why do we keep at the receiving end of feeling miserable about ourselves…

Real change begins when we have the intention to seek what is real, instead of settling for what’s easy and comforting for our already clouded beliefs.
