It’s okay for your life to be boring.
People expect things to change. New things have to happen. Exciting things have to happen. But it is not needed.
You can do exactly the same thing.
Wake up at the same time. Have the same morning routine. Go to the same meetings. Meet the same people. Do the same work. Stay in the same job. Have the same friends. Eat the same food. Take the same bus route. Wear the same belt to work.
It could just be the same.
It could be boring for you.
But in the fascination, or the obsession, to find unhappiness just because it is boring, you are only calling for misery.
Like I heard somewhere, the greatest misery is that one cannot sit in a room quietly, doing nothing, for even an hour.
This quest to make life exciting, spicy, and colourful is a myth.
It is a habit that can be expensive for your pockets and your emotions.
There is no perfect world. No perfect routine. No perfect job. No perfect partner. No perfect anything.
The obsession to chase it while ignoring where you are creates disconnect, anger, and hate.
The negative spiral downward from that state is so easy.
And now, because you are in that state, you constantly want to be away from where you are.
Being present, aware, and finding joy right now, where you are, is the simplest remedy very few attempt.
Boring is good.
It gives you more space to find joy.
