I was once accused of not having enough passion for the music that I make, and even if I had it, the accuser could not see it, or feel it .
The examples shared with me was how some reputed senior music composers share their creations with everyone possible in their circle and seek their feedback and approval.
To rub it further, they sampled a track done by a newbie musician saying, “There are these kind of people also in the market, who’ll do stuff for little or no money” This and many other comparative stories were shared to prove how I wasn’t passionate enough.
There’s nothing that can be done to people who demand your passion to be seen and experienced. Passion is not a drama that can be performed for someone’s review, approval or comments. Everyone has a different relationship with passion and have different ways of expressing it. Some are flamboyant, some are sulkers, some are stoners, some free-spirited… Passion is not there to be proven.
Passion is a thing that you discover, rediscover, resist, reject, repel and embrace.
Passion is your heart and soul in full, and only the ones with it will see it.
