It’s good to stay honest and truthful.
I come across musicians and artists, and I’m honest with them about how good or bad they are. Most of them are taken aback because they haven’t been seasoned with ‘genuine’ feedback. No sugar pills, just pure bitter ones. (You won’t have to take that if you’re good. That said, I come across good finds, and they make their way into the productions I’m working on.)
The world outside is diplomatically right, plastic-emotioned, and driven by wrong intentions, who season you with so much goodness and fake-isms that anything you hear against it will be brutal. So brutal that it could cause you a breakdown.
You have to fight it out, live it through.
We all survive in this same world of the ‘plastic good,’ the good and the bad. You need to have a taste of it all, but groom yourself for that honest feedback that you might get — it just might help you.
Await meeting the most honest, brutal person.
