My daughter suffered from sleep anxiety.
She is highly creative but anxious, which makes it difficult for her to settle down.
Throughout the night, she didn’t sleep at all, waking up and coming into our room with absurd and strange excuses.
I was very angry about this.
Many of my emotional outbursts were directed at my daughter.
As time went on, I realized she was picking up on a lot of what I was doing and being.
I am naturally curious and eager to learn new things. She was picking up my vibes and energy because I was having sleepless nights over the next big idea.
When I decided to change how I think and work, everything changed.
My daughter had her last restless and anxious night on May 31st, 2021.
On June 1st, 2021, I wrote “Dear Aathira, Sleep” to my then 8-year-old daughter.
To my surprise, I wrote a 600-word letter explaining the importance of sleep. The letter outlined the difficulties we faced when she broke her sleep routine.
It clicked for her. Reading the letter carefully, she understood the message.
The energy transferred through those words affected her deeply and directly. As I wrote this letter, my feelings were also stirred. At that moment, I knew that was the last time she would be anxious before bed.
Since reading that letter, she has been sleeping peacefully.
Yes, there have been some odd days. I have kept a journal in which she can record her thoughts in case she wakes up. The next day, she reads us her journal, and we try to understand each other better.
We have benefited from simple things like curing my child’s sleep anxiety. When you write from the heart, you transfer a lot of energy and intention.
Children embrace it better than adults. They have sensitive receptors for positive vibes. They see, hear, and feel things differently as they read and can transform their lives for the better.
