Everything is ruined when viewed from a competitive frame of mind.
It feeds your ego. Just because you have figured everything out, you continue to try to beat everything and everyone. It’s a constant showdown.
The competitive state of mind, when untamed, can cause more harm than good. It always leaves you feeling threatened. As a consequence, you feel so vulnerable that you think the world is out to get you.
You think that everyone in the room is your enemy and that explaining your point is pointless because no one will get it. You’re furious with life. You build a false perception of reality and live in it as if it were a sword with two edges.
Instead, try being collaborative.
The collaborative state is about living your life from the inside out. It is about being grateful for everything around you. You use your resources to help people and things. You never feel threatened.
When you activate this state, you become less needy and dominating. In fact, when you choose not to scream out your authority, people become more attracted to you. No matter how wise and knowledgeable you are, you choose to be receptive. You observe, learn, and participate in improving a conversation or task.
A collaborative state of mind can transform lives without being at the center of it all. Collaborative minds are always open to change. Collaborative thinking leads you to new paths and possibilities as you are constantly learning and giving.
