What was the first job you did? And what was your first salary?

The very first job I did was a freelance one. Back in 1999.

A known acquaintance’s friend was running a software company and was working on some projects he needed jingles for. He reached out saying he’d like to have music done for it. There was a proper client meeting, a proper client presentation, and all that stuff. I think there were two or three tracks I made for him — each somewhere between 30 seconds and 2 minutes.

I was pleasantly surprised that I got paid ₹200 and a pair of computer speakers he wasn’t using. Those speakers served as my studio monitors alongside my Pentium desktop for a long, long, long time.
